Is this obnoxious? Yes it is.
Did it get your attention? Yes it did. And that is the point.
As marketers we fight, kick, and scratch to earn a little bit of precious attention. This may be a “stunt” but it is fun, well-intentioned, and captivating.
The purpose of the video is to promote the A&E’s Hammertime show, but what about the people in the store? Shouldn’t they get a call to action too? Here are a couple of messages they could have given while the audience was still buzzing.

- To donate to the Hammerpants Foundation go to www dot GreatWebsite dot com
- To buy some of your own gold hammer pants go to clearance isle in the back of the store
I’m not saying that you have to wear gold pants and do a dance from the 90′s to get attention, but I am saying that you need to (1) be interesting and (2) tell your customers what to do next.
