Who Are Product Launches Really For?

“Who are these launches for?” They’re for a lot of different people, but the people that have done really well are the people that are just starting out.  I really think this is the best way to get started.  You start with what we call the seed launch.  That’s when a little, tiny seed grows into a great big tree.

You can begin that seed launch with a tiny list of people.  I’ll tell you about lists a bit later because I know there are a lot of questions about lists.  Basically, you can start with 30, 40, 50, 60 people, but it’s probably most effective if you have 60 to 100 people for that seed launch.

It’s so easy these days to get that initial list using social media, like Twitter and Facebook and YouTube.  All you do is put some amount of content out there, attract people with that content using social media, and then, you just offer them something cool if they join your list.  You’re giving them something cool, and they get something even cooler if they join your list.  It’s that simple.

Then you sign up at some list-hosting software.  My favorite is aweber.com. But whichever you choose, you just get that micro list and you do a seed launch, which allows you to build.  And the list gets bigger, and then you do an internal launch, and another internal launch, and then maybe a JV launch, and it just grows from there.  It’s the greatest way to get started. If it’s 1,000 people, or 2,000 people, or 10,000 people, product launches are just absolute money in the bank for you. There is just a ton of money to be found on your list.

All you need to do is put together one of these internal launches.  You don’t have to get crazy.  You don’t have to get affiliates, partners, or anything like that.  You just put together an internal launch, go through that pre-prelaunch phase, the prelaunch, lead them up into opening your shopping cart, and instant money in the bank if you already have an existing business online.  If you have a membership site, it’s absolutely perfect for a membership site.  I actually began doing these launches for a subscription-based service online.

E-commerce?  You can do e-commerce launches really well.  One of my favorites is a guy who does the launches for marching band accessories.  That is a very cyclical market, because there are good months, and then in the summer, no one’s buying it.

No one’s buying gloves and batons for marching bands.  So he did a launch to even out the flows, to do more sales in the slow months.

Other e-commerce sites have done a thing where they  pick out one product to launch per month, or per week, and they’ll build up a little launch around that product.  The beautiful thing is that if you have an e-commerce site, bringing people in for that launch for that one product, you know you’ll often do sales for other products.  It’s fantastic for that.

Something that I haven’t talked about too much is the affiliate launch.  An affiliate launches happens when you act as an affiliate for another product.  You could actually be an affiliate for a big product launch and do that really, really well.  But the really cool underground one, the one that people don’t see, is being an affiliate for something that’s already been on the market for a while.  Because if it’s something that’s been on the market for a while, how do you differentiate yourself from all the hundreds and thousands of other affiliates?  Well, you do a launch, and this generally means you have to go and you create a bonus that goes with that affiliate product, and then you do a little launch around that.

Another great group of people is when you have strong expertise or knowledge in an area.  It could be playing guitar, or growing tomatoes, or massage therapy, or anything.  You have some pretty solid knowledge.  It’s easy to take that and leverage yourself into expert status online through a launch.

We’re talking about the most powerful way to sell products, services, and information online.  If you’re selling it online, or would like to sell it online, I think this is the instant turbo charge.  I think it’s the best conversion tool there is, period.
